Prince’s Music Vault Recently Drilled Open | C & S Lock & Security
The unexpected death of the musician Prince left family and friends to pick up the pieces. Aside from not leaving a will the musician reportedly had a vault full of unreleased music that no one besides him knew the code to.
The St. Cloud Minnesota company Bremer Trust has been given temporary authority over Prince’s estate and decided to open the vault which only Prince knew the code.
Years prior while a guest on the show “The View” Prince spoke about his vault filled with unreleased music. “One day, someone will release them. I don't know that I'll get to release them, there's just so many.” He said.
There is so much music in Prince’s vault in fact that his estate could release an album a year for the next century!
The vault itself consisted of a large room with multiple shelves filled with stacks of recorded music. The vault door was sealed with a large spinning wheel.
To gain access to the vault professional locksmiths drilled open the late artist’s treasure trove.
Once in the vault it was obvious how much music Prince left, however no will was found.
Documents obtained by news sources state that there is no evidence of the existence of a will and there is no reason to believe that the decedent executed testamentary documents in any form.
According to Minnesota state law because Prince did not have a will or trust his estate is set to be divided his sister Tyka Nelson and his five half-siblings.
It is unfortunate that the great late artist Prince left behind so many unanswered questions and left no will and no code to his vault. However because of the hands of a skilled locksmith the world can continue to enjoy his music by gaining access to the vault!
