Wedding Car Stolen From Garage | C & S Locksmiths

A bride to be on her wedding day has been left devastated after an award winning classic Mini Cooper intended to be featured in her wedding was stolen!

Bride Emily Austin of Western Downs Stafford had been the owner of the 1991 Mini since she was just 15, now aged 22 and without her Mini.

The car was stolen from her mother’s home in Walton-on-the-Hill in Staffordshire. Emily planned on using the Mini which she dubbed ‘Mabel’ to travel to her wedding with her partner where it would then be used as a centerpiece for photographs taken on the big day.

The Mini was mysteriously stolen from the mother’s open-fronted garage. Reporting on the issue bride Emily had the following to state; “We are absolutely gutted, the Mini is part of the family and we have all helped work on it over the years. Words cannot express just how upset we are as a family, as ‘Mabel’ has been a part of our family for the last six years and is our pride and joy. She was left locked up in our garage in a quiet village, where crime is virtually unheard of. It was such a shock to go out to put something into the bin, late morning to discover she had gone. My mother was shocked, too, because she was in the house at the time.”

The Mini had just been fully restored to original pristine condition and had recently been on display at the British Mini Fair at Bingley Hall in Stafford where it won second prize in the 1990’s category. The car was also recently featured in a Mini convention in the county where Emily believes the culprit first set sights on stealing the car.
